Redbone Coonhounds
Our Redbones have their own kennel name, Hoosier Hound Kennel, which officially became a kennel in 1997. Hoosier Hound Kennel is also home to another breed of Coonhound, the English Coonhound. Both breeds are basically identicle in that they hunt coon, their builds are the same, and they both decend from the foxhounds and bloodhounds. The only big difference is the color. Our Redbones are UKC and AKC reg. and usually always titled before they are eligible to reproduce.
AKC has now put the Redbone in the Miscellaneous class and we are waiting for them to be accepted into the Hound group.
